  1. Because he didn't want to.  The enemy became his friend and he ratted out the US

  2. You're the expert, I guess.

You were there, you know what the logistics of it would have been, you know whether or not he was locked up or chained down or whether he could walk about freely.

Wow, I love it when people sit in judgment over people and situations that they know NOTHING about.

    .

  3. Now that's just stupid, you act as if escaping a POW camp is easy.  Obviously you've never served your country, sitting behind a desk looking at g*y p**n on your lunch break is not serving your cvountry

  4. Yeah he was just gonna run through enemy territory unarmed and then swim to America.

  5. Why can't YOU learn spelling and punctuation? Try putting down the Xbox, Sunshine.

  6. Hey look,  i don't support McCain, but this is a totally BS Question.   How old where you when he was there, or where where you at when he was there. He faced a trial more than I can think of, as well I'm sure you can....   Right, wrong it don't matter, he was there and lived through it. That makes him a hero, not an American President.  JMO

  7. maybe the rigors of the situation prevented such a quick escape.

Congratulations for asking the most moronic question of the night!

Delecora - Our teachers didn't see this question.  And I didn't say stupid...I said 'moronic.'

  10. It's kind of hard when they beat the **** out of you and break your bones every day.

  11. John McCain was offered a chance to leave because Admiral John S. McCain Jr., commanded U.S. forces in the Pacific during Vietnam.  He chose not to leave unless they would release the ones that were captured before him.

We don't know if he tried to break out or not.  Why the question

  12. war-hero.. schmore-hero

    Who needs 'em?

  13. He was actually told he could leave by his captors because his father was a USN Admiral, but he refused to go until those that had been in captivity longer were released.
