Why cpm come against somnath chatterjee? what was his fault as a speaker?

  1. Unfortunately,though constitutionally speaker is supposed to be a non  partisan member, in practice it is  not so.  The  moment the member ceases as the speaker he goes  back to his party politics, he as a member of political party is bound by the constitution of that party and he has to obey the directive of the party failing  which he will loose the membership of the party,though he may hold his post. This is what eaxctly happened in the case of Somanath chatterji. He disobeyed the directive of the party incurring the rath of that party.


  2. There was no fault on part of Mr.Somnath Chatterjee as a speaker.  CPM couldn't accept the fact that Mr.Somnath Chatterjee did his duty as a speaker ably and justly.  

    CPM also is yet to grow up to accept the fact that when a member is appointed as a speaker, his duties and priorities change.
