well it's mainly coz till now there was only ODI's and Tests which took very much time and it was not possible to include it in the olympics or asian games

but now that T20 has emerged, there may be a possibility of including it there as it takes only three hours

lets hope for the best!!

As it is professional , time consuming, not being played world wide involving lot of facilities not possible to be provided. More over professional players do not like to play but for money. It was introduced in Kualalumpur Olympics but no country, except Aus, sent its regular team. so it was champ. Idea was dropped in next game looking at the attitude of the participating countries. Now, t20 may be intoduced in 2012 olympics but not sure.

Well .Till last olympics the commitee answered that the game is too time consuming to occupy all the sports time.but now cricket is well designed and i think it will be take part in next olympics

the sole reason as to why cricket is not being included in these Olympic or Asian games is cause the factors to excel in this games are far more than skill and abality, i.e, in cricket factors like, weather, lighting, humidity  etc... change considerable withn a game of two sides, and could give advantage to one side in winning.... where as in athletics these factors are less likely to change the winning order and even it did it would mosst likely affect all contestents like in outdoor cycling where all contestents are out on the same time, in cricket, one team get to play in the heat and the other play in the cool which can drastically change the balls pitch , speed and spin.

The reasons being that Cricket is not included in Olympic of Asian Games is because

1. It's time consuming.

2. Not many cricket grounds available in the Host nation.

3. Not many countries know to play or know the laws of Cricket.

Note: Cricket was scheduled to appear in the 1896 Games however was cancelled due to an insufficient number of competitors. It was held in 1900 but then dropped from the programme of events.

But may be one day because of T20 there will be Cricket in Olympic or Asian Games..

The IOC are looking to having cricket included into the olympics buy the 2020 games....

Obviously it would include some sort of 20/20 Round Robin tournament...

i think if you do some internet searching you'll be able to find that it once was in the commonwealth games, and the icc is currently forming a bid to have it accepted into the olympics

i think it is bcause ogf the lack of worldwide appeal. also the fact that there is the world cup, champoins trophy and 20-20 world cup, there is enough international competion already.

and if you think back to this summer and the one before, think about how much cricket they have played. ten tests and countless one dayers per season. with a olympic games chucked in there i think it would be too much for the players.

as b4 cricket was known to them 5 day game or 1 full day game but nw with T20 its sure Cricket will b included soon

The Olympics, Asian Games or Afro-Asian Games and Commonwelath games are held for a short period of days.  In spite of the many events, these can be organised within a specified time frame.  However, cricket needs to be played for a nearly month with the intervening gaps for rest.  The time consumed for this would be beyond the period of the above said games.  Hence, cricket has so far not been included in these games.
