Why dating is consider Haram in Islam.In that case how would a man and a woman going to know and understand?

other before getting married. So how about a man and a woman chatting via telephone, sms, instant messenger and etc is that consider haram/illicit to. Dating doesn't mean engaging in s*x. How Hollywood movie portray dating is not really applicable or practice in the real world.

I was born and raised in the West,  I reverted to Islam last year and I find this not dating thing very hard.  In my culture, you must date to get to know your potential partner and later on get married.  My parents would never let me marry someone unless I have dated that person for at least a year. Dating doesn't mean having s*x and touching and all the crazy stuff I am seeing here.  We go out alone, go watch a movie, go to play golf, bowling, have a coffee, etc, we are not animals, we know how to behave and how to control ourselves, our faith is very strong and that helps a lot.  I know I will get all the thumbs down but this is my experience and opinion.

Because if you are unmarried it will lead to s*x before marriage, single teen mothers, and the birth of illegitimate children. Therefore it's punishable by 100 lashes for the male and for the female!!

If you are married because your cheating on your spouse and breaking up the family unit. You are destroying your spouse's life and your children's lives and can possibly bring Sexually transmitted diseases and HIV and AIDS to your spouse in bed. Plus for women having s*x with multiple partners can give you cancer. It's punishable by stoning to death(See Hadiths) if your married and it is proven!!

finally in Islam you can't have any unlawful relation with opposite Gender unless it is Muhram!!  

and if some one is getting married then it is allowed to see her/him and talked to each and let know each other!!

Dating is not haram, but what happened during dating could lead to something haram. In the modern days, people could meet and fall in love through many ways such as from photograph, something in internet, on tv, and so on.

Dating DOES mean s*x and kissing.  

Phone, text, im, inviting the girl over to your parents house for dinner is ok and NOT dating.  

I guess it possibly does not need to mean that, but things that can lead to sin are sinful.

Consuming alcohol is a sin for instance.   Purchasing alcohol with no intention of drinking it is also a sin....because well, who knows...you might end up drinking it.

Don't tell me you can go on a no looky, no touchy date. If you can, good for you!!!! It leads to things that are haram. Very rarely do you find a couple who are dating that have never had s*x, never had physical contact, never been alone together, and never had sexual thoughts about the other. Because of dating, children are born out of wedlock, std's spread like wildfire, and people learn that when there's a fight, big or small, you don't need to work on it, you just move on to the next person.

LOL we don't just see anyone and get married with out getting to know them! We can meet, talk etc but making sure the conversations are kept clean and another person is present, or even in a public place, inform parents and they can get to know him too.
