  1. Foreman was done for over a decade.  If they ever fought again at that late date Ali was in no condition to fight.

  2. I think Tornado summed it up best.  Forman's loss to Jimmy Young took place less than 2 years after the ALI loss.  Had he lost to ALI by decision there might have been discussions of an immediate rematch.  Because he lost by TKO, and the fact that he was held in such high esteem before the loss, Forman fell, figuratively, behind Norton and Frazier.

There was no reason to believe either of them could ever beat George.  However, there was still reason to  believe that both posed greater threats to ALI than George did because ALI had never KO'd either.  In Frazier's case, there was always the interest in a fight between he and ALI.

Not many cared much about Norton until AFTER his third fight with ALI which many felt Norton won.  However, in the case of Frazier, His victory over ALI was more convincing than ALI's over him in the rematch.  With their respective styles, there is always the interest in a fight between them.

To be honest,  I don't think ALI would have wanted to go through with another fight with Forman.  George punched him harder than anyone ever had come close to.  One can always argue that Liston punched just as hard.  However, Liston fought "CLAY", Pre-Exile ALI.  He never came close to landing a hard punch and neither would have George.

ALI would have fought George if it became necessary.  He  never feared George the way so many others did, including Norton.  This always gave George reason for doubt.

Any way you look at it, the more time passed the less likely it would have been for George and Muhammad to have  a rematch.

  3. what for? he already knock the **** out forman..

  4. Foreman kind of spiraled out of control after that defeat, By the time he was right again, Ali was probably showing signs of Parkinson's Syndrome. He was way too old as well by that time.

  5. Foreman was working his way back into contention, beating Joe Frazier again.  He fought Jimmy Young and lost an upset decision.  After the fight, he collapsed in the dressing room and had a spiritual revelation.  If you read his autobiography "By George", he will say how he kept saying to himself that he "will die" and he felt like he was in a nothing/hopeless situation when he was rescued.  He gave up boxing and became a preacher, helping young people in his native Houston.  Only when he needed money to continue his recreational program, did he box again.  By that time, Ali was retired for over 6 years and showing symptoms of Parkinson's.
