Why did Bellsouth and AT&T get together?

IM GOING FOR AN INTERVIEW TO WORK FOR BELLSOUTH AND WAS JUST WANTED SOME FACTS.

AT&T acquired Bell South on Dec. 29, 2006.

AT&T already owned almost a dozen of the smaller "Baby Bells".  The purchase of Bell South is just another step in getting bigger and stronger.

Even though Bell South website domain address still operates under the Bell South URL, the web site actually calls itself AT&T and makes no obvious mention of Bell South.

Because AT&T is an evil corperate BLOB that buys up all the little phone companies, and they have really S****y customer service.  There are no humans to talk to, and when you finally do get a human, they tell you to replace your equipment.
