  1. ~They were really REALLY ticked off about the mess that Cleopatra's elephants and giraffes were leaving in the streets of Rome.  They thought that with Julie dead, Cleo would take her animals and go home.  They underestimated Marky Tony and it took Augie 8 to deal with the situation.

By the way, Rome was NEVER intended to be a democracy.  Give the Teutons more credit than that.  They knew better.  On the other hand, people actually think the US is a democracy.  At least people who have never read and understood the US constitution.  Methinks it is called a Republic, but I could be mistaken.  As Plato said, Heaven help us if the power is given to the hoi poloi (he just said it in Greek and it sounds oh so much more gooder.)

  2. they thought that Rome would be like when it was ruled by the kings again, making democracy vanish. They thought Caesar would become a tyrant and They both believed they were being selfless in killing caesar. Brutus' lineage was able to claim they ousted Tarquin, the last king of rome.

  3. They were afraid he would become to powerful and be come a dictator. Rome was a democracy.

  4. they were afraid of the threat of dictatorship julius caesar was emitting

  5. They were afraid of Caesar becoming the next Cornelius Sulla (the first dictator of Rome who had over half the politicians and a third of the nobles of Rome murdered during his rule). For them it was about the preservation of democracy and the sanctity of the Republic.
