He was the best player on the Memphis Tigers team, Derrick Rose is great too, but wasnt better than CDR. He should have been in the top team. The Lopez brothers arent that good to me.

  1. I like CDR and I too thought that he should have been taken earlier in the draft.  I think the reason he was picked low is because he didnt perform all that well in the championship game plus people usually forget that before Derrick Rose stepped up, it was Chris that was leading the team.

  2. He wasn't spectacular in the pre draft workouts. And also a lot of the time, success in college doesn't equate to success in the NBA.

    see: Adam Morrison.

  3. If the Hornets haven't gave away thier draft pick I think they would have got him...CDR is my favorite player that was in the draft this year...I hope he does very well in the NBA.

  4. He maybe wasn't that great in the Pre-Draft workouts like Troy Smith (if you watch NCAA football) he was the Heisman trophy winner and got drafted in the 5th round I believe (just because he wasn't as good in the Pre-Draft camp

  5. derrick rose can certainly get better, and he went #1 because of all his potential to be the next baron davis. CDR was a great scorer in college but scouts couldn't see that much more improvement in his game. he has good height for the SG/SF spot but he's built like rip hamilton. he needs to add some weight to his frame. plus he was mostly a slasher in college, that's why he shot so many free throws at memphis. the lopez brothers went higher than him because they're tall. and we all know how dominant a decent big man can be. a coach can do a lot to make players better, but he can't teach 7 feet in the nba.
