  1. Because there was a set of 4 Supreme Court Justices who were obviously going to strike down every New Deal law they looked at, and there were 2 others who often voted to strike down those laws. Roosevelt was afraid that too much of his New Deal was going to be declared invalid, so he wanted to be able to change the ideology of the Court, so it would not strike down any more New Deal laws.

He got wanted he wanted, in the long run.

  2. That kids everywhere started doing their own homework because the justices made it illegal to use Yahoo Answers to do so.

  3. .

The series of anti-New Deal decisions by the Supreme Court angered President Roosevelt and prompted him to attempt to reform the federal court system itself. This included a so-called "court-packing" proposal that would have enabled FDR to appoint an additional six justices to the Supreme Court. Suddenly, the non-political branch of the federal government was caught up in an intense and bitter national political debate. The Supreme Court would never be the same again.

  4. he appointed judges that had his same beliefs, so that when he did something the supreme court would agree, that is why today they need senate confirmation to become one
