  1. Not enough sales so stopped making them......ujn

  2. I was wondering the same thing i love the excursion it gets the same mileage as the expedition yet it is bigger and more roomy.  if your gunna by a big SUV why not get a bigger roomyer one for the same price and gets the same mpg or get the diesel excursion talk about a great family car i love it and im single but to answer your question i think too many people thought it was too big and too much of a gas hog well news flash new cars today get the same if not worse then the excursion did

  3. What a tremendous vehicle that was.

All the engines are LEV rated, so the environment is a minimal issue in terms of emissions and it does anything you throw at it.

They are something like 15% biodegradeable, but I can't find that using google to back that up.

Ford is supposedly making a stretched version of the Expedition, since that was stupid going to such a big rig without something smaller to step up from.

  4. Lack of sales. GM has had that market to themselves for so long that people never thought to check out the Excursion when the time came to replace their Suburbans. I always liked them, and, am looking for a 4x4 diesel Ex. right now. The prices are really dropping now, with fuel so expensive. But, I'm one of the few people that can actually use a rig that size. We tow a lot of big heavy trailers.

  5. i think it was because of lack of sales...no one just bought the car to say they have an excursion, they bought it because they needed a vehicle that big

  6. largely political pressure.  the excursion v-10 was a flashpoint with environmentalists and safety  experts as it was the least fuel efficient and heaviest passenger vehicle on the market.  Clay Ford, who was burning up family money, was in charge at the time and buckled to that pressure.

also, it did not drive as well as the similar sized suburban 2500 (although it had a much higher payload and towing capacity) and so never sold very well either.

  7.   I think a better question about them would be ......WHO CARES !!

  8. Vehicles that get dismall gas mileage such as the Excursion are finished...
