All over the news everywhere oil prices are falling. Yesterday morning gas prices went down to 3.86 at one place in southern chicago near 115th and Harlem. Next thing you know I come home from Six Flags and its 4.15....this is crazy

What is going on? I checked on the news again tonight oil prices are still falling on the highway going to work in South Barringtion and the Hillsdale Osasis where Gas is always high is at 3.96...the gas prices in chicago sound like they are goughing to make up for people not buying gas whats going on?

  1. they like sticking it to us here. we don't complain as much and the media is asleep.

  2. I don't know, but it seems that gas prices in Chicago are the highest in the country.  I heard that gas in California (where you'd expect it to be highest) was at like $4 per gallon back when we were at $4.50.  And they were complaining!  You should be glad that gas is $3.96 there because I live IN Chicago and gas is more like $4.25 - 4.45 in the city. $3.96 actually sounds good to me!

I don't think it has anything to do with people not buying gas. It seems like there's still quite a lot of people at the pump. If anything they're price gauging because people are willing to pay those prices (people will complain, but most still pay the prices because they have to, they need reliable transportation).  If people boycotted the pumps the prices would probably go down.

But really the high gas prices - from what I've heard - has something to do with the war in Iraq. The war has ruined gas prices, and the economy as a whole by putting the whole country into a recession.  I've also heard that gas is high because we're running out of oil (not sure how true that is). There are many different theories...

  3. gas prices are constantly going up everwhere =// unfortunatelyy

  4. Prices have gone up almost $3.50 since the first fake gas crisis in the 1970s.
