Why did Georgia lose so badly to Russia in just 3 days?

isn't that concerning considering Georgia had military equipments from America?Does that mean other American equipped countries would badly lose to Russia?(Poland)

Number 1 it was a surprise attack.

Number 2 there are far more Russians, than Georgians.

Georgia does have US made equipment, but training is not yet up to par.  

It's kind of like feeding gunpowder to a pit bull and sicking him on a chihuahua!
