  1. coz they were getting old. neway they're talent isnt wasted, they are doing pretty well in ipl.

  2. Because their respective country wasn't giving them decent wage to live?

  3. When you are old it is difficult playing day in day out and very exhaustive too. I guess thats the main reason.Try living without your family for ages then you will know

  4. Because they were all geeting too old, Ponting hasn't yet.

  5. They all retired as they think it is time for them to be with their

families. All of them retired in upper 30s and have contributed

to Aus cricket. Ponting thinks he has few more years of cricket

left in him and hence he is still playing. Your comment about

Ponting should have retired - is your personal opinion on him.

If that was the case then many Indian cricketers should have

retired as well. It is not our say that holds value - it is upto

individual cricketers depending on their personal life. As long

they perform - why should one be forced to retire.

Did you watch Dravid taking a blinder catch today - even in

mid 30s he is still capable of such catches. Hence retirement

is a personal thing for every sportsman.

They are still playing well and contributing to the game and

they are in IPL because of the amount of money they can

make in short time of 40-45 days.

  6. They retired becuase

    . for their families

. thev'e progessed to how far they wanted to go in the sport

. becuase tour was maybe long and tiring

. Gilly probley had enough of the controversy that went on

. and at 35 your body starts to get tired and soar specially if your wiki

    ponting didnt becuase

.becuase he still has the leardership skills and qualities

. he hasnt reached his goal in cricket and still wants to progress

.not quite 35 yet but will be getting there soon

but i did want ponting to retire before Gilly and Glen becuase those two are champs

  7. i dont knw but i still like ricky pointing i like those 3 2 ut i will go for poinitng here sry. i am not with u

  8. They had come to the end of the road you cannot play professional sport forever it is much better to go out on a high note than overstay your welcome all three players left on their terms which is the best way to go.

  9. all of them wanted to go on high

  10. What a question! Ponting is much younger than Warne, McGrath & Gilchrist, so why should he retire? All the 3 latter players felt they had done enough & now look forward to an easier life I guess.Theirr decision to make.

  11. I think they felt that Australia have enough talent in their country. So before Australian Cricket Board asked them to retire the should retire themselves.

  12. Because they are all around 35 years old or older which is the time when players tend to retire from top level cricket like Test Cricket , where they play for honour and pride, and only play in sub-standard tournaments like the IPL, where they play for money.

Ricky Ponting is younger than them so has a few more years left in him.  Plus I think he wants a go at winning the Ashes over here in 2009.

  13. To join IPL.

  14. Is that 1 question or 4?

  15. Because they are not born & were playing for India!!

  16. Itall depends on the individuals.  Mc Grath,Warne and Gilly feltthattheir prime time os over and it is better to honourably retire when you are iin good fame instead of getting dropped from the side.

  17. bcoz these player are tired of playing and ponting didnt retire bcoz he is tired of playing
