If it was for a choice, answer me this, will there be a choice in heaven?

If God is all-knowing he would not need to test, so it couldn't be for a test.

  1. I agree with TJ's answer.

Maybe at some point God would of given them permission to eat of the tree of knowledge, but it was not right then.

  2. God is all knowing. He knew what Adam/Eve were going to do, but they didn't. It wasn't exactly a test I guess. It was more a way of showing them who they were - that they had the capacity to choose and that they would choose to disobey. And by disobeying they learned the truth about themselves. That they are sinners in need of a savior. All of us face the same choices today, don't we? Not in the form of a tree, but in the many other ways each day. We have a choice to steal or not to steal. To cheat on our spouses or not. To lie or not. Its all the same thing. When we fail we have the opportunity to realize that we are not perfect and therefore fall short of God's standard for entering  heaven. Hopefully, then, we realize that we need someone to pay the punishment for our sins for us so that we can be deemed perfect in God's sight and actually go to heaven. That is who Jesus is. Jesus paid the punishment for Adam, Eve, me, you, and everyone else so that the poor choices we make don't have to keep us from heaven. But it is necessary for someone to actually believe all this in order to actually be saved. See John chapter 3 for the details. In this passage Jesus calls this belief being "born again".

Hope that helps. IM me if I can clarify.

  3. God is all knowing if he chooses to be.  Just because you can do something does not mean you do it.  If he decides what you will do before you do it, then where is free will?  The tree of knowledge is knowledge of what is good or bad for a person.  Only God can decide that since he is our creator.  But Adam and Eve wanted to make those decisions for themselves.  The world has suffered terribly since they made that decision.  Soon god will take back rule of the world from Satan and from humans.  Then he will restore the earth to the paradise he began with and there will be no more sickness, pain or death.  Only those who are willing to live according to God's standards will survive.  Never again will God allow a rebellion such as what Adam and Eve brought to the people.

  4. It's a terrible analogy.  Wouldn't that categorize God as a bad parent?

I think it does.  Any parent that leaves something potentially dangerous with their children, should be locked away in prison.

  5. God says...i wanted to be recognized so i created the worlds.... He is definitely All-knowing. All he made was a big plan. We all are not free we are limited with certain boundaries to act accordingly.... all-knowing knows what would we do if given a chance but what we do is not because we are destined to do that!!!
