  1. Your son or daughter was born with an extra copy of Chromosome 21. S/he has an abnormal brain structure and a  tendency to accumulate beta amyloid plaques in their brain.

If you choose to have more children, a low sulfer diet may help avoid mongolism in future offspring. The older you are when you have children, the more likely your child is to have down's syndrome.

You could try genetic choice technology (out of the country), or IVF to avoid this from happening again.

I can't imagine how devastating it must be, but realize that they are a human too. They deserve to have an enjoyable and fulfilling life full of love.

  2. It may be 4 that God want to know your destiny , don't think about ur child syndrome, ur child is the part of ur body.

whatever God gives us there is always a big  reason 4 that, only think that there will be a good reason .

Show the God that u are not a weak mom who will afraid from such type of  diseases of ur child and promise to yourself that one day u will find a good quality in ur child through which ur child can survive in this world bco'z God always give a unique quality in everyone like butterfly, a small ant , honey bees etc .There is lots of example, so don't fell upset , think positive and take care of ur child and tell him/ her about this beautiful world if he/ she is enough big.

  3. as many 'Christians' would say, everyone has their cross to bear. Unfortunately, it's hard to deal with a handicapped child but I am a BIG believer in Karma...and things that you may have done or allowed to happen in your past may have contributed to this.

But people always have this "WHY ME" mentality when it comes to difficulty...but in actuality, why NOT you? or me? Trials hit people HARD and everyone goes through them at some point. Nothing will change that. I don't know if you're a christian, a muslim, or a jew...but all of these religions do acknowledge that God will not put more on you than you can bear.

  4. let me answer that question with another question why did god let hitler put the jews in the oven

  5. If you believ in God read James 1:13 - when under trial let no one say I am being tried by god, for with evil things god cannot be tried nor does he try anyone.

Its justr human imperfection. My brother is handicapped but you can't blame God for our imperfections...its not right because only good things come from God.

  6. Because He knew you would take care of this child and love him and there are other parents who would not.  I firmly believe in the Providence of God and that there is a purpose to everything that happens to us - good and bad.

You must be very special.  In addition to the Bible, it may help you to read the story of football coach Gene Stallings' life.  He has a son with Downs syndrome.  I think reading his story will be an encouragement to you.

  7. To make you a better person and because he knew you were up to the challenge, and that your child needed a special parent like you. God gave us free will...Happy Mothers Day.

  8. This one's easy...Get your bible. Got it? OK, now turn to Job.

Read, read, read.....if you think you've got it worse than that poor guy who still kept his faith after all that...BUZZZZZ...Wrong answer!

Count your blessings. Not always easy, but that's why they call it faith.

  9. its not god.

    its simple science.

  10. My son was born with autism.  When we received the diagnosis, I questioned in my heart why we have to deal with this.  Why does my son have this obstacle to get over every day of his life?  Someone very wise brought something up to me:  God won't give you something that He won't help you through.  When Paul asked God to take his thorn in the flesh away (whatever it was,) God told him no.  He told Paul, "My grace is sufficient for you."  God wants to make Himself all-sufficient for you too.

In my time working with children, Down Syndrome, while dehabilitating, is not the end of life.  I worked with a kid with Down's at an amusement park as part of the show.  He was a great kid.  He had good comedic timing.  He was funny.  He was extremely loving.  Every kid with Down's I have ever met is loving.  They have a joy that is unexplainable.  They see the good in everything and are excited about the little things.

I say, look for the good in the situation.  Yeah, it may stink right now, but His grace is sufficient.

  11. Why do you think your child as some one with Down's, why isn't your child a human first?

I belong to the field of Rehabilitation and have been working in this field for the past 7 years, and can assure you that your child is a tiny bundle of immense happiness for you.

Please imagine what all your child can do.....isn't it greater than what she can't do?..........

And she will learn to do much more under your gentle and reassuring support over the years, and I am sure what she will be able to do then will outnumber what she doesn't do now, then probably you would not be required to ask this question again.

  12. Consider yourself lucky, he could have given you down syndrome instead of your child.
