  2. Because the oil companies have screwed the people of Alaska for years, there are several legislators in prison right now for taking bribes and voting for a ridiculous tax passed during the admin before Palin.

    She came in and cleaned that up a bit and in the process raised taxes to their highest levels ever, making Alaska the highest taxing oil producing place on the planet.  That should bother the conservative pro-business repubs out there.

    I'm an Alaskan and I support the higher taxes as a punitive measure against an industry that has been raping the people up here for years.  But then again I also think that Hugo Chavez is on to something with what he did with his nation's oil industry.

  3. She not only raised taxes on the oil companies, she took some of the profits and gave it to Alaskans to help with gas prices. That is exactly what Obama is proposing. So why would dems oppose that?
