These days is the anniversary of explosion of an Iranin Airbus airliner in the skies of Persian Gulf by American battleship Vinsence. Nobody answered that how such a modern battleship can do such an impossible mistakes with all those facilities that every body knows. No body can answer me that 20 years ago I lost all my family for nothing. Is this much to your credit? Wasn't this something related to human rights? Have you ever thought about this subject? Have you thought how this happened? I should ask do you care ??? I do respect American people. I am not accusing you. I did not mean to upset anybody. But you judge as a human, if you were in my shoes what would you feel about USA? Godforbidden I have experienced such a grief that I do not want any body to experience it even my enemies. Let alone you that are friends.

  1. Here's the deal.

When you start cutting off people's heads on television or drag the dead bodies of Americans down a street and kicking and spitting on them it tends to give some people the wrong idea.

How about calling for the total destruction and/or annihilation of the U.S or referring to it as the "great satan".

Does this make any sense to you at all or do these things not really matter at all to you?

It's very easy for all of us to only see one side of the story.

    Isn't it?

  2. Id like to take this time to say I overreacted.  I do that sometimes, so dont p**s me off.

  3. Unfortunately, nothing is 100% accurate.  20 yrs ago technology was not as accurate even compared to today.  The American people had nothing to do with your loss, it was an error made by a ship during a time of war.   Believe me the people on that ship that were responsible were probably sickened by the mistake they made and have not lived it down.  Americans are by no means cold and ruthless, that is what gets us in to trouble always trying to help others and it makes us look bad.  I am sorry for your loss and all I can say is that letting go of the anger helps to heal the heart.

  4. it is sad that most americans have hid behind "WAR", "human error" etal... and feel cosy in the claim that some compensation was allegedly paid

was  USA at war with Iran?? what were its warships doing there-- if not simply bossing around?? what stimulation was there to hit a passenger craft???

Even presuming the controls were not as good as today--- surely even a bare trained eye can differentiate a passenger craft from a fighter craft... and, if they cant handle an ordinary missile-- they have no moral right to nor are capable to have nukes by any stretch of imagination.... You don't let trigger happy little kids carry live guns.

Going by the argument of compensation... would the US and its citizens be happy if the Taliban, the alleged bombers of 9/11 paid compensation by the same yardstick?

its simply-- "power corrupts-- absolute power corrupts absolutely".

US, the self appointed global sheriff and its astounding arrogance is all the more evident in the case of Iraq.. which it invaded... in the name of Weapons of Mass destruction (despite international & UN observers advising presence of none).. & International Community... has so far caused death of almost a million Iraqis-- directly & indirectly.

  5. i am not an American but on this issue I will defend them - I do not believe that the Iranian Airbus disaster was a result of a deliberate act by the American military. Obviously those who have suffered loss such as yourself have every right to feel angry

  6. Mistakes happen.  The US expressed it's regret over the incident, and paid $131 million in restitution.

    Bad things happen occasionally...to everyone.

  7. In 1996, the United States and Iran reached "an agreement in full and final settlement of all disputes, differences, claims, counterclaims" relating to the incident at the International Court of Justice.[5] As part of the settlement, the United States agreed to pay $61.8 million in compensation for the Iranians killed. The United States did not admit responsibility or apologize to the Iranian government.[6]

    Get your facts straight

  8. Unlike Iran , the USA has open investigations and the outcome as presented to congress is on the Internet. However Iran is and has been and aggressive power for 3000 years. Iran as usual was being belligerent, Iran broke its own treaties and the treaties that all countries follow by allowing the American embassy workers to be taken hostage. So it is established that Iran is belligerent aggressive countries who doesn't follow international rules, the crux is that distance from the airport to a strike zone on American assets was less than two minutes. In short  your family's death is the price you pay for allowing a government of mad mullahs to run your country, had you had a reasonable government your family would still be alive

  9. This is the first time I've seen your reference to incident.

I have to say that I doubt that a handfull of people on here have any memory of the Vicennes and the Airbus.  So many were young children or not here at all, 20 years ago.

Very few have any knowledge of what the military does in most cases, or why things occur, such as this.

Since the only living witnesses were/are the ones who were there and involved, all we have is their account.

There is no question of the sadness that you and so many experienced.

As you must know, there were engagements by our Navy at that time with Iranian boats.  Those kind of situations often lead to mistakes, or as some may consider it, incompetence or human error.

No amount of explanations can ease the pain and loss of loved ones.

Even the monetary compensation of $131.8 millions cannot do that.  We just can't put a price on precious lives.

From accounts that I have read, no one knows how the total money was distributed.  It appears that $70 millions were never accounted for.

$300,000 was suposed to have gone to each "wage earner" and $150,000 to non wage earners.

I mention this because there's not much else one can do for those left behind.  Sad but true.

    Peace be with you.
