Question:

Why did I bleed during/after s*x?

Okay - So I have had s*x before. But this past weekend my boyfriend (whom I've had s*x many times with before) and I had a little rougher s*x than normal. We went to switch positions only to find we were both drenched in my blood. (which wasn't my period.)

I jumping in the shower and cleaned myself off - and put a tampon in and after a few hours the bleeding stopped and there was no pain at all.

After some self investigation/research I believe my septum tore, which leaves me with a piece of skin hanging that I am completely disgusted by. I cannot find any other information everything I find is on hymen tears.

I'm 18 and pretty confused to why all this happened now and why I have never bled before.

Sorry for all the gross detail but I figure the more I give maybe the more someone will understand.

Here is a diagram which I figured out what that piece of skin was.. http://www.youngwomenshealth.org/hymen.html

HOPEFULLY SOMEONE CAN HELP ME - AND THANKS IN ADVANCE.

  2. I don't know, but when it happened to me I was 21 and I never bled again after the first time. It was just a little too rough for me.

  3. Maybe before he didn't break your hymen. But this time the guy you had s*x with did. It happens a lot maybe before the position you and the other guy was in didn't allow him to break it but this time the position and this guy were in did. But I could be wrong but I think that's what happened.

  4. You might have had part of your hymen still there, and the rougher s*x tore it.  I've never heard of that much blood from a hymen, though, and most women don't have a band of tissue there like that picture.  It's also possible to rupture a vein inside.  I had a friend who did that and had to go to the hospital because she was bleeding so much.

I think you need to see a doctor and find out what that torn skin is.

Since you're 18 and active already, if you've never been to the gynecologist, it's a good time for you to go.  You can find a free clinic to go to if you don't have insurance.

  5. Girl,, You need to call your OBGYN doctor and ask him this stuff, and maybe make an appt to see him/her.. I don't think you can get the proper answers on here for such personal things like this. Sorry,, Call your doctor.. :) Good Lucky

  6. If I were you I'd go to my gynecologist.
