Question:

Why did I cancel my cable service...???

A few years ago I signed up to DISH Network but now I am about to lose reception AGAIN during a Cubs Game on WGN because of some cloud cover and it is really making me angry. Snow, rain, cloudy skies - it doesn't take much to lose reception with your DISH.

So before I cancel my DISH and go back to regular cable, will someone please remind me why I cancelled cable and went with DISH in the first place?

Was it about pricing or service or more options?? I really can't remember now why DISH Network looked like such a good deal back then. Can you help me?

Prefer answers from people who have had both cable and DISH but welcome all responses - thank you!!!

  3. you tell me

  4. both have different service... i prefer cable because of on demand.

    but i love tivo....

    50/50 there

  5. I once switched from Cable to Dish.  The installers did not install a ground wire even though the instructions pointed out that this was an extremely poor requirement.

The reception was at least as good as it was on cable, but I lost service completely in bad weather.  In fact, It didn't even have to rain for me to lose service, just "looking like rain" was enough.

I finally switched back to cable and that was the end of my problem.

  6. It sounds like your dish is not set up right.I have my tuned in that i have 99% satilite singnal,I lose my singnal only once or twice a year and only in a good storm.Never is longer than a few minutes. They will work if it`s only tuned in to 70% but then you lose it every time there is a heavy cloud cover. But i am also with a different company.I hate my local cable company with a pasion. They like to add servises you did not want  and you usualy get stuck paying for a least one month before you can cancel it.  It goes out for hours and happens just as often and the singnal is not as clear like the dish.I do not have cable anymore, switched to dish years ago and i am happy with it.

  7. not sure.

  8. DISH tv gives you a pretty good deal but it cant beat the qualtiy and price for cable.  So the introductory rate and the nice little offers that they give you is just a trick

    stick with cable!

    Good luck
