Question:

Why did I collapse and have palpitations?

Last night, I was standing around chatting when very suddenly my heart started pounding in my chest, I came over very hot, and I collapsed. After ten minutes the feeling passed. Now my chest feels a little tight but I am otherwise ok. I had eaten plenty and only had one glass of wine. I have been under a lot of stress lately, but last night I was pretty relaxed and happy. Any ideas?

  1. Panic attack? Best see a Dr just to check as it could be other things. If you're stressed though it can build up until you have a panic attack, unless you learn relaxation techniques. Just breathing into your lower stomach instead of the chest can make you feel more relaxed.

  2. sounds  like a panic attack, if i were you , i would go and see your

    gp. about it,

did you , hyperventilate at he same time,

if , you do, then i would get a  bag and blow  into  that,

that helps, otherwise if you, are having  a severe attack then get

someone to call for an  ambulance straightaway.

my mother in law , has panic attacks , and i took her to  a&e

      the  other day,

hope  you get it sorted , do not leave it, please,

you, will end up feeling worse off.

  3. do not take chances and seek medical help as soon as you can. you should have ecg and blood tests taken to see no damage has been done to your heart.

  4. See your doctor for tests, may be nothing more than a very bad attack of indegestion and or stress, but better to be safe than sorry :(

  5. This is not normal. You need to be seen by a Dr. There are many causes of palpitations and dizziness.

  6. ventricular tachycardia...which is very bad.  Might just have been what they call SVT which is marginally better.  But either way what you experienced needs to be evaluated immediately.   It could kill you next time.  At the very best you could have been just dehydrated, but all the other differentials are life threatening.  Also if you had some sort of arrhythmia it could form a clot and fire it into your brain and then you'll have a stroke.
