Why did I cry when I woke up?

I had a dream that I cried when i saw my dad but then woke up and cried.

I have never woke up and cried after a dream of crying.

When you cry in your dream your physical body cries to. You may have never woken up crying but you have cried in your sleep before. This is because the emotion that you feel in your dream is real. If you are sad enough to cry in a dream then when you wake up you will still be sad enough to cry. A good example of this is when a child has a nightmare. They wake up from the nightmare and they are terrified.
