Question:

Why did I dream of my cat disappearing?

I currently have 2 indoor cats, both 4 years old & females. In the dream, I saw my one cat sitting outside on the doorstep by my parents' house. In a blink of an eye, she was gone. When I went looking for her, I could only find her favorite collar that I had put on her. Throughout the dream, people kept trying to give me another cat but I kept crying for my missing one.

I'm not usually that attached to my cats, so why am I dreaming this?

  1. Well, maybe your dream is telling you to get more connected or attached to your cats since you spend a little time with them.

  2. Cats may symbolize freedom

In your case, it may just mean your freedom is fading away. You may be feeling your privacy is getting invaded, and projecting other people giving your another cat symbolize things that are not your desire and you may be forced to get.  You are feeling restricted in some access somehow.  That is why you dream of cat disappearing

  3. Your dream very much suggests a sense of something that may be lost to you - not necessarily the cat.

Whatever it is, you sense that others will seek to comfort you if it happens, but to little avail.  What is at risk is too precious to be replaced.  The cat may be a mere projection that represents this thing and may not be the creature in peril as your inner mind senses the thing.  In finding the collar you are left with a painful reminder of the loss.

Consider this - are there any loved ones in peril - ill or in harm's way somehow?  Such a thing seems to be on your subconscious mind.

    All the best to you.

  4. maybe you lost something close to you because those cats are close maybe as a younger version of yourself

  5. you are just saying that you are not attached to them but actually you love them a lot....that's why you were crying when one of 'em disappeared....maybe that's what your dreams want to say..
