Question:

Why did I ovulate the first cycle off birth control and now nothing?

So, I stopped taking birth control four months ago. I ovulated on CD 41 and had an 11 day lp. I was okay with that because it was my first cycle. Now for cycle 2 I am on CD 68 w/ no detectable ovulation (I'm temping). This is really frustrating and I just can't understand why since I am young and in good health. I am taking vitex and don quai which don't seem to be helping. Why am I not ovulating when I know my body is capable? Any ideas?

  1. Birth control can really mess up your body's hormonal system and it could take upto an year to get on track again (even the birth control manufacturers say it stays for 3 months in the system, but in practice it varies a lot).

If you are really worried, you should consult an OB-GYN.
