Why did I spot brown discharge?

i had unprotected s*x 4 days ago and today spotted a brownish pink discharge in my panties. its the middle of my period,so too soon for my period. he never came in me, he actually never came at all. But im freaked about this discharge, im not on the pill, im 28 and have regular periods, spotting is very rare for me...what could this be?
