  1. don't beleive all you read/hear in the media!!

  2. I think they were more concerned with protecting their reputations as Doctors than anything else.  Didn't look too good did it - Doctor's leaving their kids alone and then losing one.  Image; creating, enhancing and maintaining  is what is most important to these people. Oh yes - and money.

  3. Because they killed her.

  4. There is only one reason for not answering questions in this situation ............ ............ self incrimination!

  5. Madeleine's parents spent 14hours late into the night shortly after May 3 answering questions. Surely, the PJ could cover all they needed to ask in that time?

It was when they resorted to force a confession out of Kate by offering her a deal to admit she killed her own daughter, as Ms.PMT rightly points out, that they knew that whatever they replied would be twisted to suit the PJ's own warped theories & so refused & rightly so.

  6. The pjs attempted to force a confession out of Kate by offering her a deal to admit she killed her own daughter.

    Disgust springs to my mind.

  7. maybe they were in shock and filled with guilt?????maybe?

  8. they were probably very distressed.

  9. They're never going to find her and I find that sooo sad it breaks my heart.

  10. Chloe is correct.  The vast majority of crime against children is committed by a relative or close friend of the family.  As many parents have found out, it must be extremely distressing to be suspected of harming your own child, however the best way to deal with that suspicion is to be fully co-operative.

Police officers are trained to spot lies, inconsistencies and evasions.  Even if YOU can't see the relevance of questions, the questions have to be asked.  The more they know about the family then the more they find out about the child.

The point is, when you have answered all their questions fully and honestly then you can be eliminated from the investigation and the police can then get on with the business of solving the crime.  Refuse to co-operate and police will wonder why you are being obstructive and what you are hiding.

To arrogantly refuse to co-operate in finding your own daughter is extremely suspicious so it's hardly surprising they became arguidos.

  11. They were not in Portugal to answer any questions and when the Portuguese police came to Britain they did not even bother to contact them. Yes they were in Brussels for a day but the cops still have 5 whole days but as usual they did nothing.

  12. well i think everyone realises when there is a 'abduction' or murder the very first suspects are the victims family, and it spreads out to extended family and close friends etc.. so as distressing as it would be to be accused of harming your child, you must surely realise that the police HAVE to eliminate you from their enquiries.. H A V E to!!!  by not co-operating they hurt themselves and the enquiry into their daughters disappearance.. what INNOCENT parent would refuse to co-operate??? as distressing as it is.. it is essential..

  13. Of course it would have done,,any sane person would realise that,,however now that the police files have been leaked to a  Portuguese web site and the information is now in the public domain the McCanns will be running even more scared than they were when they left Portugal,,,

  14. They have right to remain silence: esp. when those inadequate police tried to make them as scapegoats.
