I was at Kings Island for the first time in a while and I noticed Son of Beast no longer had a loop. Did someone get hurt? When did they remove it?

  1. As others have said back in July of 2006, 27 riders where injured when the structure actally gave.  The report showed that the structure was really not able to support the weight of the trains.

In order to replace the trains with lighter ones the loop had to be removed.

  2. In 2006, there was a minor structural failure on the ride that causes a number of people to be injured (though none seriously).  Though the loop was not the direct cause of the problem, the presence of the loop required heavier cars to be used on the ride that themselves contributed to the failure.  As such, the loop was removed so that they could use lighter and safer cars on the ride.

  3. Because of the loop they initially had to use very heavy carts the heavy carts made a board on the track break which sent some people to the hospital with neck and back injuries so they took off the loop and got new lighter carts
