Why did Kobe play so horribly against Angola?

Is it because of his pinky or what? And why is everyone tryin to take up for that guy? I mean they act like they cant just admit he had an off night. He kept missin shots and gettin turnovers(travels etc.) He didnt even score at all the 1st half. If he's the best player in the world, then he shouldve scored some points sooner, am I right?

He is the best player in the world and you are right he had an off night by his high standards twice in a row. However, I agree with the announcers in saying that he isn;t used to the role he is put into. Other players can be spot up shooters or drive to the basket like Lebron or Dwade but Kobe is a deadly shooter who creates his own shot. It is an entirely different game when he is expected to go out and catch and shoot.

Look, i agree with you he had a couple bad nights but everyone has bad games even the best MJ, Magic, AI, Lebron..Everyone. When he gets back in his game he'll be tearing it up, trust me if you watched the game against lithuania (not sure on the spelling) he tore it up and was untouchable. also the olympics puts a h**l of a lot of pressure on players because there representing one of the most important things about them ; there nationality. Remember in 2004 AI choked it up but he's still top 10 in the game (in my opinion)

Well if you take away the 0-8 from the three point line, he was 4-5 when taking shots inside the three point line.  In the Olympics, the three point line is closer to the rim than in the NBA and i think thats what really hurt him.

Let's face it.  Kobe can't deliver at the big stage, and that's why he was Shaq's sidekick. Shaq is the Tick and Kobe is Arthur.
