Why did Marciano retire undefeated?

My guess is that when you beat Joe Louis, Jersey Joe Walcott, Ezzard Charles, and Archie Moore- what other worlds are there left to conquer? We are talking about four of the top ten fighters that ever lived!

  1. Correct me if Im wrong, but I believe Mr Marciano passed away in a plane crash before he actually retired formally.


  2. he retired udefeated coz he just happend to beat everyone he faught  it wasnt that he ducked anyone he was the best heavyweight in the world at the time and one of the greatest if not the greatest  heavyweight of all time 49-0-0-47ko's
