  1. Air Wings rotate on/off carriers, they are not part of the ship's company.  The ship was non-mission capable, so they moved. end of story

  2. Probably because the ship was unusable, and his service as a fighter pilot was important and needed. He was shipped elsewhere, flew his jet into harms way, and was shot down and held prisoner.

    Next ignorant question...

  3. Because his squadron was transferred while the ship was repaired.

I take it you are not aware that in the US Navy - squadrons are not permanently assigned to any particular ship?

Maybe you should withdraw this question as it is doing nothing but making you look like an idiot.

  4. You seem to look for conspiracy, the military does what it does. You may find it more worthwhile to study the issues before us now, and have you considered that if there was a fire, then a lot of men got transferred?

  5. It wasn't just McCain who was transferred, a fact conveniently omitted from liberal sources. The entire airwing was transferred to other carriers in order to continue flying combat missions while the Forrestal underwent repairs.

Just a suggestion...if you want to smear someone, at least know the facts. You'll appear much less stupid.

  6. McCain was never part of the crew of the Forestall.

He was a pilot in a squadron, in civilian terms he was Joe Blow - nobody.

He was not the one making decisions on what bombs to use or how to run the ship.

Since he was part of the squadron, he moves with the squadron, not the ship. When the ship was damaged and could no longer fly planes, there was no longer a reason for the squadron to be there. So they transferred and took McCain with them.

All common sense. Trying to blame McCain for the fire is like trying to blame the janitor at Enron for the company's downfall (he took out the shredded paper!!)

  7. I have no idea why he was transferred.

However, I have to say that that blog you linked to is one of the most rambling, nonsensical BS that I've read in a while.

Both McCains were involved in the USS Liberty attack, huh?

    (LAUGH!)

  8. Check yourself, please.

  9. Why? The Forestall was non mission ready, and a war was going on at the time. One does not allow people to just sit around and do nothing in war.
