  1. For injuries sustained while in combat.

It amazes me how anyone could discredit his service and sacrifice to this country. He spent 5 1/2 years of his life in a 6x8 cell.

If you do not like his political views fine, but to discredit his service to this country is reprehensible.

  2. For that matter I would say anyone who gets a purple heart has been unlucky.

  3. The purple heart is awarded for injuries sustained in combat.

Since you are not American why would you care?

If you were paying attention Americans have been considered aggressive for over 200 years.

  4. Gee, maybe it's because he ejected over North Vietnam, crashed into a lake and broke half his bones.

Purple Hearts are awarded for battle wounds, injuries and deaths.

  5. Everyone who is injured in service to their country gets a purple heart.

My father has one for getting some kind of mysterious fever while in Vietnam.

  6. for being brave enough to defend his country. someone like you wouldn't know about such things.

  7. May you burn in Hades....

John McCain was injured ejecting from a jet that was struck by a Surface To Air missile.... then brutalized at the hands of VC pigs.

4 years ago, the libs rallied behind a guy who had THREE purple hearts, and NONE of the injuries were EVER treated with anything more than Neosporin ointment and a band-aid (LITERALLY).

  8. I think being shot down, and in a POW camp for 5+ years rates for a decoration.  They don't have a "I survived POW" decoration.

  9. He was a POW for over 5 years -- that's more than unlucky. It's amazing he came out alive to begin with. He was toruted. I am not military myself, but my huband is and I doubt you meant it disrespectful, but it could come off that way when you put it as simple as "unlucky" he was heroic. I'm not even a McCain for president supporter, but I have respect and gratitude for his time served.

  10. I imagine it was for the injuries sustained in North Vietnam (both arms being broken, etc).

  11. Do you even know what a Purple Heart is for?  From your question, it is clear you don't.  Do a little research next time before posting a ridiculous question.

  12. Wikipedia:

"Being wounded or killed in any action against an enemy of the United States or as a result of an act of any such enemy or opposing armed forces."

Yeah, and lucky for us right?  Since he's one of the people that has ensured our freedom.  You're so dumb.
