I understand the 1995 thing, he sucked at baseballand knew he had a few good years left, so he came back. But why did he come back in 2001?? I remember an interview in 1998 when he said he had nothing to prove so he was retiring. Then why did he come back in 2001, when he could have MAYBE won another championship in 1999??

  1. because of the same reasons that made Jordan great. He just wanted to compete and being retired sucks if that's all you everknown. Yes, he had nothing left to prove but at this point it wasn't about the championships no more. he chose the wizizzzissizzz because he had a stake with them as an executive.

  2. I have no idea. Hes amazing, but when youre that rich, you should stay retired.

  3. hes a ********...thats why

  4. same reason brett farve is coming back... age forced him to retire

  5. I think Sky walker got it right.  He had proven everything he needed to in Chicago, but if he could do it again in DC? That would truly have proven his greatness.  Never happened and ultimately won't affect his legacy; no harm no foul.

He just likes to compete, and I wouldn't be surprized too see him in a backgammon tournament at 90 on ESPN 15.  I think he is just the kind of person that likes to compete and loves the challenge.

  6. He came back because he was still better then Kobe.  Get it!  Good.  Now stop hating.  You can't stop talking about Jordan and yet that you complain everyone talk too much about Jordan.  LOL.

  7. When he was GM with Washington, he was tired of seeing them lose game after game, so he wanted to get in himself.

  8. Well, he did not originally want to retire, but Jerry Krause wanted to break up the team and rebuild and Reinsdorf finally  went along after the 1998 year.  Additionally, the NBA lockout occurred after the 1998 championship and this created an awkward situation as the season was shortened and delayed and Jordan decided it was best to retire.  Also, I believe he cut one of his fingers badly cutting a cigar that year and could not of really played after the season started  after the lockout.  He proceeded to join the Wizards as part owner and President of Basketball Operations in 2000 and then they proceeded to suck because of a lack of talent.  Jordan probably got sick of watching them lose and his competitive nature got the best of him and he joined the team as a player to help them win. Jordan was practicing with the team before playing and probably was schooling them in practice and thought his level had not dropped that dramatically.  Unfortunately, his body could no longer hold up and endure the gruel of an NBA season and he was inconsistent and injury plagued for much of the rest of his career.

  9. Coz he wants to lead the Wizards to become a championship caliber team...but sad to say, he did not!!!!

    G0t it? Go0d!!!!

  10. he probably felt home sick i dont know y he would go to washington but ehhh.....

  11. Some stars just don't know when to call it quits, they love the game so much they don't know that they have passed their physical prime, but their mind ignores that and they end looking old, tired and should of retired.

  12. cos he is a r****d

  13. He probably just got that itch to play, he just loves to play basketball. He knew he wasn't going to win a title in Washington, he probably just figured he could enjoy playing again and teach his players some things at the same time. I think he wanted to be an inspiration for them.

  14. he said he liked the chance to teach young players.  he also said he didnt like the present crop of players with on and off court antics.

he was also looking to own the wizards franchise.
