Why did NASCAR call the caution?

Question

Usually on the last lap they will wait it out, but why did they call it immediately when the 10 car spun and cleared off the track instead of letting them race to the line? We're they trying to secure a win for JR?

No, the cars had damage and debris so if u had eyes u wouldn't have wasted 5 pts!

Safety crews had to get to the #10 car, he hit the wall head-on and a caution controversy is better than a hurt driver sitting in a car with cars whizzing by.

usually they wait it out if it is just a spin this was a wreck they didn't know what could have broken off each car... coming around any of the cars could have run over something

Because the wreck was in front of 20 cars. and in my opinion, NASCAR doesn't like juinor. I dont know why but think about it

Well you have to be cautious in these situations.  The cars racing could have ran out of fuel in the 4th turn have the cars with fuel wreck into the back of them and eventually plow into the car in the infield.  It was the right call to ensure safety for ALL drivers.

Because Carpentier was not at the end of the field.  They did not want to cause a pile-up and had to throw the caution for safety reasons.  If he had been at the tail end of the longest line, they'd have left it.

I wasn't insulting Hornish. In fact, he's one of my favorite drivers. I was just saying that he seems to spin out more than anyone else. Usually it's because of contact from another car.
