They have accused Bush of invading Iraq for oil then Obama mentions the war and says Iraq still has a 78 billion dollar surplus of oil in it. Is he now saying Bush should have taken it to build up the USA's surplus?

Talk about damned if you do,damned if you don't!

  1. He brought it up because we are drowning in our own, excuse me Bush mistakes. We should have never gone over there don't you get it?

  2. Perhaps he wants the war to be about oil.

  3. no - this comment is questioning the billions of US taxpayer dollars being spent on rebuilding iraq

  4. he mentioned it because a lot of americans were not aware that iraq had such a large surplus.

oil  was one of the big reasons for the invasion of iraq. there were several more reasons.  the oil was never meant for us.  we just opened up the oil fields so that american companies can drill, pump, and transport it to india and china.  and make a bundle in the process. iraq gets the royalties,  but there is megabucks to be made in the production and transportation end.

i dont know about you, but, it pisses me off that we are spending our  borrowed money rebuilding iraq, while they are swimming in cash.
