  1. Biden is Obama's perfect complement.

  2. I don't know why Obama picked Biden. He could have picked Hillary and actually won the thing. That was dumb.

  3. He has all of the foreign policy experience and experience period that the other choices did not have and McCain doesn't have.  Some answering have said that with this choice, Obama will be just a figure head.  The Republicans should be use to that.  Anyone with the brain that God gave a gnat knows that it's called Bush/Cheney but is really Cheney/Bush administration.  I'm not complaining because as stupid as Bush has sounded, it could have been worse..........dear God forbid.

  4. He's knows about politics. He's got Democratic party seniority.

My first impression of him was that of a used car salesman, but after listening to him on some talk shows I think he's reasonable and has a good head on his shoulders.

  5. Experience. Not that the vp has much say in matters.

  6. political expediency....he is weak in foreign and domestic policy and was dropping like a lead weight in the polls, so Joe Biden will give him a temporary boost, but a V.P. pick is limited in pushing a weak Pres. pick to the White House.  Only Lyndon Johnson pushed Kennedy over the top, and that was suspect with him winning by only 100,000 votes.  People vote for Pres. not V.P. so this is a temporary boost if any.  When McCain destroys Obama at the debates, then we are home free.  McCain in 08...for me and for millions.

  7. Most likely, Obama chose Biden due to the senator's foreign policy gravitas.  Someone commented that Biden should probably send Putin flowers, because the Russian turmoil with Georgia made foreign policy a top priority again.  Not only does Biden excel in this arena, but his bio and voting record suggests that he understands and can speak to the plight of the working/middle classes.  Biden is known to speak truth to power no matter the consequences.  Biden's own son has fought in Iraq, which deflates McCain's use of his son's status in the military, as well as McCain's ability to stop the debate when evoking his POW past.  Biden is also aware of how many homes he and his family own.

  8. BRING ON hillary for heavens sakes

  9. I think it was because he knew that Republicans were preparing themselves for Hillary and he knew Hillary's voters would still support him anyway...

But it sucks for us (Hil supporters) because now there is nobody who takes Universal Healthcare seriously...

  10. Because Obama, Inc. thinks that the majority of voters won't mind having a President who is a figurehead for executive rule by partisan committee.

They figure Obama supporters don't care WHO really makes decisions, runs things, whatever, as long as Barack Obama's photo is hanging in government facilities around the country, featured on table placemats with US Presidents, etc. etc. etc.

The less capable a figurehead is, the more jobs and influence become available for courtiers.

When introducing his running mate, Obama said, "So let me introduce to you the next president - the next vice president of the US of America, Joe Biden."

And then when it was Biden's turn to speak, the Delaware senator called the presumptive Democratic nominee "Barack America" instead of Barack Obama.

"My friends, I don't have to tell you, this election year the choice is clear. One man stands ready to deliver change we desperately need. A man I’m proud to call my friend. A man who will be the next president of the United States, Barack America,” Biden said, per ABC News' Sunlen Miller.

  11. It was actually a good choice.  Biden gives Obama cover in the areas of foreign policy and experience.

  12. Only because he hopes to increase his voting base and plans on using Biden's mouth as his bulldog.

In either event, this will end up backfiring, I believe.

  13. because he was the best candidate to help on the lack of experience area that mccain talks about every single time and to connect to the other side of democrats who did not know him well.. and i think it helped him get more votes cause joe biden has alot of experience and the American story they keep talking about
