Why did Obama pick an Old White Guy for VP?

All the young Cool aid sippers out there have been knocking McCain as too old. How old is that? Biden looks like he could be McCain's father in Law! So, is Obama looking for experience and the credibility that brings?

Is he courting the White vote?

Old white guys happen to be the overwhelming population in Washington.  Until that changes we're going to see old white guys in office, even with candidates who can't be described as old or white or even a guy.

Actually McCain is several years older than Biden.

Also Biden has a couple decades more foreign policy and national security experience than McCain does.

He's not as old as McCain.  There are very few other types of politicians besides white guys and a lot of them are old.

* McCain was anti-ethanol. Now he’s pro-ethanol.

* McCain was both for and against state promotion of the Confederate flag.

* And now he’s both for and against overturning Roe v. Wade.

Oh, and he picked Biden to p**s you off.

It always amazes me that so many people sip the Cool aid and actually believe that Obama represents some kind of fundamental change in Washington.

In reality, most all of Obama's overrated agenda is old-style, mainstream liberalism in the Kennedy, Mondale, Carter mold! It just re-packaged and called new, but its the same old from Washington Libs....

...and now Obama has affirmed that agenda by choosing one of it's Big Government, high-taxing, do-nothing authors as his running mate. Joe Bide is not change...he is status quo... and America is truly sick of THAT!

this is Obama's ultimate flip flop.  he further insulted Hillary and her supporters.  i think that they will make him pay in one way or another.  Obama showed that he wants to win at any cost, even to go against what he has repeatedly said about Washington 'insiders' then he chooses one who has been in there 'club' for six more years than McCain.

it will be remembered how Biden said that Obama was not ready to be President and that he would not accept the VP position so we can see that he too, can suspend his 'morals' to try to win.

He didn't , Kennedy/Kerry did and he had no choice but to play along, when Obama said President Biden it sounded like acknowledgment that when he meets his Oswald Biden will be the President.

I'm not sure, but I think it just cost him his presidency.  I'm not saying Hillary Clinton hasn't had her flaws, we all do, but I think he lost alot of women voters on account of who he chose.  I heard Biden bashed Obama in the past on how he wasn't qualified enough.  Sounds to me, Biden has other motive for why he took the position.  Definately not in the best interest of Obama.
