Why did Palin, as a mayor, want to ban certain books from the local library?

What is it about science, knowledge, literature, and art that conservatives are so afraid of?

I just think it is something conservatives tend to do.  They like to control things.  Instead of letting other people decide for themselves what is good or bad they try deeming for everybody what is good or what is bad.  George Bush Jr. definitely exhibits those traits.  And what more really is trying to put a ban on g*y marriage than trying to control what other people do.  Think about it.  What g*y person would vote for a ban on g*y marriage?  None would.  That basically puts conservative straight people trying to control what g*y people do.

The same could be said about Iraq.  According to the Conservatives let's just stay in their and tell the Iraqis what to do even though their government is telling us to leave the country.  If the Iraqis are telling us to leave, I say we leave.

That just proves the story's bias.  BTW, no mention on the books she wanted to ban.  Just a brief blurp.

Conservatives in rural communities are desperate to avoid change. But when "change" means simply acknowledging basic scientific findings- the earth is old, evolution is true, mankind is causing global warming... they fight reality, and that is an embarrassment. It is because of these sorts of conservatives that the world thinks Americans are idiots.
