Shouldn't she have compared it to being an Illinois State Senator?

Look at the sequencial experiences of Obama and Palin:

O-US Senate (4 years)– representing 9 million people

P-Goveror of Alaska (2 years) – representing half million people

O-Illinois State Senate (8 years)– Representing 150,000 people

P-Mayor of Wasalia (8 years)– Representing 9,000 people

O-Civil Rights Attorney – 11 years

P-Wasalia City Council – 4 years ,Wasalia PTA

O-Harvard Law School/ Editor Harvard Law review

P- TV Sports reporter

O-Community Organizer

P-Runner up Miss Alaska

  1. Palin has actually accomplished something.  Obama is all about talking the talk.

  2. She was just making political hay.

As a community organizer myself I was insulted by her remarks.  A community organizer has responsibilities; and, unlike many politicians, if we fail, we have to face the people we have failed every day - face to face!

For instance, if the local community center fails to meet the criteria, as set forth by the government, for a summer lunch program then I have to explain to the neighborhood children: "Miss Sandra, why are we not eating this summer?"

  3. name one thing barak hussein obama has done as a senator? nothing.

    .

even all the liberal press when pushed can't and won't answer that

  4. umm..Vinny, whoever? How can you compare a 72 year olds record to someone in their 40s? Of course McCain has more "experience" but a lifetime experience of making bad decisions isn't really worth much, now is it?

  5. i agree with everything you said, good question

    and valid points.

  6. A community organizer has more leadership responsibility than a Senator so it stands a better chance at standing up to comparison with a Mayor.

Governors don't represent people. They work for the people. They run the government and make the decisions. The same with a Mayor, only on a city level instead of the state. A Senator doesn't run anything. They sit around and vote if they want to or not vote if they don't want to. They may create or sponsor bills if they want to, but they aren't required to.

In short, Senators have no real responsibility. They are supposed to represent the people who elect them, but with the ultra low approval of Congress how can you even say that they are doing that? There's nothing to keep them in line.

Are typical Obama supporters really this clueless on what Mayors and Governors do in comparison to Senators??

  7. Same old Con spin.

What they don't get is that the President is not about running the country, it's about LEADING it.

    O- '08.

  8. Abstinence only education about s*x seemed to work well for Palin's teenage daughter, huh?  Yeah, don't teach kids about safe s*x...it only makes 'em wanna "do it".

And yes, a Senator is a representative for the people from their state.  It's called the Legislative Branch of Government.  They pass the laws that the Executive Branch carries out (executes).  So, don't get so worked up about who "runs" the gov't.  A simple Civics class may help some of you.  I swear, I think some of you right-wingers would prefer a monarchy.  I mean, you have a problem with our system of government in my country, the USA?  Bunch of fascists.

  9. Interesting that youre comparing Obamas experience to Palin and not Obamas experience to McCain ; )

I swear you Lefties are all such easy marks!

  10. It is called politics.  Sarah Palin wants to pad her resume as an executive.

  11. Obama has no decent legistlative accomplishments.
