Why did Palin wait until the same day Hurricane Gustov hit to announce Bristol's pregnacy??

If teenage pregnancy and promiscuity is nothing to be ashamed of, why did they wait until now?? hmm...

BTW, they say she will marry the father. Oh! That will make it all better. Getting married because you got yourself knocked up is a great idea and at 17, the marriage will surely last 4ever? What is this? 1950?

ALSO: I've noticed that Repubs are so testy about this subject. Are they scared for the election?? They would never admit it, but they are shaking in their boots. They should be.

Because it refutes the rumor (that just came up) about Bristol being Trig's mom.

On the father marrying.  It is the right thing to do.  If it doesn't work, at least they tried.

Her daughter might want to finish high school first...then think about marriage.  Well i think Palin was forced into telling us about the pregnancy because of all the internet rumors going around about the 3 month old baby really being her grandson (which is not true).  I still think that either way Palin is going to come out looking like a hypocrit.  It's like Mc Cain really shot himself in the foot and he knew about this before making his announcement for VP.

We aren't testy about this.  We are shocked and disgusted that you find this an issue in the first place.  If you weren't so desperate to destroy her because of the advantages she brings to McCain, you would not stoop so low.  For decency, I want these types of attacks to stop immediately, but people like you are continuing to dig their own hole.

I think her hand was forced by all the media prying.  She could have avoided this by releasing Trig's birth certificate, rather than dragging her poor daughter out into the national spotlight like this.  Very poor judgment on her part.

Word on Alaskan blogs is that Bristol and Levi were not a "serious couple", so I just hope they aren't being coerced into marriage so that Sarah can run for VP without the scandal of an "unwed" teen daughter. It's bad enough that the poor girl is enduring this in front of the nation, but when this is over and done and she's stuck in a shotgun (and there's lots of pix w/Sarah totin')  marriage, that isn't fair to anyone.  It's  hard enough to adjust to either situation, baby or marriage, add in all the Sarah connection and it is pretty much a ticket to h**l.

Because if  you would watch the leading news channels you would understand why it came out today.   It was only three days ago she was announced as the VP pick.   Those scumbags that brought this false story about Trig out; the campaign had to jump on this and debunk it immediately.  

The liberal Democrat blogs brought this story out and wanted it out before the RNC; they have been plotting this and they got it out alright.  It shows the lies they said about Trig.  And you think we need a liberal leftwing in the White House.

Personally, given Palin's evangelical Christian views (which likely includes opinions on teaching kids about s*x education), I find it rather hypocritical.

I find it funny,  in a sarcastic type of way, that while her type often does not like my type (non believer, relatively liberal, etc), my non believer family doesn't have any children or pregnancies out of wedlock...

If it was on the other side, how much you want to bet the republicans would gladly point it out, call themselves the *moral* people with *values*, and make a commercial about it.

it was a miscalculation by her. She thought Gustav will bury the headlines but instead Gustav faded and no harm was done. That proves she is foolish and lacks "intelligence".
