  1. no like he cares anymore!

    lol

he went cuz he felt like watching the stupid Olympics.....

  2. he went to support his country!

  3. ummm maybe because every single other world leader was there? it would look bad if he didn't, and it signifies a U.S. President in China.

  4. Can't the man just like sports?

  5. TO PAY HOMAGE TO THE COUNTRY THAT HOLDS MOST OF OUR PAPER. IT WAS ALSO A KIND OF A t*t-FOR-TAT IN THAT WE DON'T WANT CHINA BURYING FORMOSA. REMEMBER WE HAVE A MUTUAL DEFENSE PACT WITH THAT TEENY LITTLE ISLAND.

  6. China is keeping our economy afloat by lending us money for our ever-growing deficit. We have to appease them every chance we get because the party will be over if they pull the plug. Also, our businesses need cheap Chinese labor to make their products. Remember when lead was getting into Mattel toys being manufactured in China and the president of Mattel apologized to China about it instead of the other way around?

  7. It is proper for heads of countries to participate  with their presence in such events.  It is called foreign relations.

  8. hes the Manchurian candidate, and a socialist,.

  9. he went to support the USA He is our president and ! Why would it be political?

China is cool with us they depend on us as much as we do them he does not have present issues with China he went for the Olympics!! OK Dreamer

  10. He wanted to have a confidential discussion with Putin about Georgia.

  11. It was to be seen as a supporter of our athletes as well as to be seen by the other world leaders that were there. It would have been considered rude to China, as the host country, if he had not attended. Our country's forgien relations are horrible and this was a way to show the world that we belong among the other nations.

  12. Evidently Bush went to humiliate the United States by appearing very transparently bored at the Olympic opening ceremonies, slumped in his seat, and obviously behaving like the spoiled rich kid he is: he didn't want to be there, but he 'had to'. His appalling, sloppy, arrogant disregard for the dignity of the games only further demonstrated what a dim-witted, insolent, worthless man our President really is. If he didn't want to be there, he should have sent someone else who could have represented our country in a more respectful and dignified manner.    -RKO-   08/10/08
