  1. For the same reason the Democratic speakers lied when they had their turns: POLITICS!

  2. Everyone lies!!!!!! Big whoop...............It's all about having the knowledge to run a country and obama will only ruin this country!!!!

  3. When do they chose to run on the issues?  Better to attack the candidate then discuss the failures of the past eight years.  They wan to give us four more of the same.

  4. That's all they  have left. They have lost on issues long ago..

  5. they trashed obama too!

    what the h**l?

  6. Wow, this passes for news these days?

Would someone explain how you can raise capital gains taxes only on the rich?  How many small business bring in less than $250k per year?

Obama is raising your taxes.  It may not be your income taxes, but he's raising your taxes.

  7. Because that's what they do best.....

  8. It doesn,t matter the party, there politicians, they all lie about anything and everything they can get away with. All they care about is getting into office, caring about this country,s hard working man is the least of there concern, most people I know dont even vote anymore because there hasnt been a real man to run for office since John F Kennedy.

  9. Oh,for the love of pete...name me one candidate that has not lied..You will not find one. This is both parties you perfect Liberal.

  10. because they are the masters of the big lie:  "The bigger the lie, the more they'll believe" and if you repeat it enough, people will believe it.

  11. Like at the DNC

read the article, a pretty good example of media bias...there is no counter article done by the same AP political writer for the DNC speeches.... All I could find was a snipet story that yahoo never placed in it lead.

The charges that Democratic National Convention speakers fired at Republican John McCain yesterday weren't necessarily half-truths. But in some instances, they weren't the whole story, either.

    Some examples:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton: “John McCain wants to privatize Social Security.”

The facts: The plans McCain has supported over the years would privatize part of Social Security by letting workers invest some of their payroll taxes into private retirement accounts. In the past, McCain has proposed that up to 20 percent of payroll taxes be funneled into private retirement accounts for younger workers.

Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell: “And guess who voted with President Bush 90 percent of the time? Sen. John McCain.”

The facts: McCain voted with Bush 90 percent of the time from January 20, 2001, to when Congress left Washington on its annual August recess, according to a study by Congressional Quarterly. But McCain wasn't always a staunch Bush backer. In 2005, his support for Bush's position on legislation reached a low of 77 percent; last year, when he launched his latest bid for the GOP presidential nomination, McCain voted with Bush 95 percent of the time.

Iowa Gov. Chet Culver: “Now the oil companies are placing their bets on John McCain, bankrolling his campaign.”

The facts: McCain has received more than $1.5 million in contributions from oil and gas industry employees and their spouses, according to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics. Obama has received about $423,000. But the center's analysis found that Obama has received more than McCain from employees of the oil industry's major companies. Employees (and their spouses) of Exxon, Chevron and BP had given more than $93,000 to Obama as of the end of June; McCain had received $75,000, according to the study.
