  1. because Georgia ethnically cleansed S. Ossetia!!!!

  2. Why does any country invade any other country these days?  Oil.

  3. Separatist - independence from Russia, I'm still not even sure - ethnic cleansing also - nothing much can happen to the soviet since usa cant intervene cause thats what they did to iraq and which will lead to world war 3 and un doesn't have a army

  4. I Kiss  chelseaclintonsgoofyhair's  kiss kiss   "smoches" and grabs at her!!! OH  MY !OH My!  KISSES KISsES.........

  5. I have abnormally large nipples.

  6. Russia was already there as peacekeepers, so technically there was no invasion. They were attacked by the Georgians who were attempting to re-assert their control of their little province.

South Assetia is like Russia's little "Kosovo".  As you may recall, Kosovo broke away from Serbia and we (the west) supported them.  Now the shoe's on the other foot, S. Assetia is wanting to break away from Georgia and the Russians are supporting them.

Russia is also pissed that Georgia is attempting to join their old nemesis NATO.  That would make them feel more isolated.

  7. They said Georgia was being bad.

    Something about human rights abuses.

  8. I am probably going to be the only one giving a real answer, that isnt personal opinion, so listen up.

Georgia claims its because they want to join NATO, and russia might have invaded them to get back at them, seeing as they where part of the former soviet union, it might be in russias best interest to -punish- them for what they did.

the Russians claim it was to protect the kremlin backed South ossetians, Who the russians claim hold alot of russian passports.  it is a break away georgian region, the georgians sent in their military to take it back. the russians charged in to stop it. they owned georgias small military in no time.

The question is, was the russians just using it as an oppertune moment to assault Georgia, part of the former soviet union who is wishing to join NATO and EU. or are they really concerned about protecting the russian citizens and passport holders in South Ossetia?

No one knows yet, but what everyone agrees on, is that war is bad, and they want a ceasefire to talk it out. the russians reportedly arent holding up to their end of the

ceasefire, so we will just have to see.

if you see a news report of Russian troops in their capitol, tbilisi, then we will know if they are more interested in re-establishing kremlin control of Georgia. or just protecting south ossetia.

  9. South Ossetia and Abkhazia used to be part of Georgia and Georgia used to be part of Russia back when Russia was still the Soviet Union (Georgia became independent when the Soviet Union collapsed). In the early 1990s, they declared independence from Georgia as they wanted to align with Russia instead of Georgia which was becoming pro-western. South Ossetia and Abkhazia are both recognized by all countries of the United Nations as being part of Georgia, not as independent states. Last week, several shootings occurred between Georgian soldiers and South Ossetian soldiers. Georgia responded by entering the capital of South Ossetia and shelling their infrastructure in an effort to retake what is legally their territory. Russia, on the grounds that several citizens of South Ossetia have Russian passports (the Russians gave South Ossetians Russian passports) and are therefore Russian citizens, decided to intervene by taking military action against Georgia in and beyond the conflict zone of South Ossetia. It was expected that Russia would stop advancing past South Ossetia, but they advanced as far as about 50km near the Georgian capital, bombing civilian infrastructure. The 2000 South Ossetian body count was proven false by their own health minister who said only 43 bodies and 170 wounded were at the hospitals and that they were mostly soldiers.

  10. To be honest they want to test the United States like they did during the cold war. Actually i have never believed it to be over due to the fact that they still constantly try to compete with the us over who is the most powerful nation. I see this as a precursor at what russia plans to do in the future, take over the land surrounding it. It worries me to think that here comes another world war but hopefully that never happens and we could all live peacefully on earth/
