Why did SL lose Idea cup to Dhoni and boys?

it was said here that SL is a better team and it was predicted a 5-0 white wash , the score is 3-1, i mean 3 India and 1 SL and that too with India-A playing in SL with their key players not playing !

now, who wants to congratulate India for thrashing the world cup winners in CB series and world cup runners up at their own soils convincingly.

hope the critics will be silenced after this and all the sri lankans ranting here will go into a hiding !

The reasons why India won against SL in this IDEA CUP are:-

1) Indian middle order batsmen like Raina and Dhoni himself have clicked at the right time.Even Virat Kohli has done reasonably good.

Had it been for what you call key players like Sachin,Sourav,Dravid they have almost completed their ODI career now apart from Sachin who is frequently plagued by injuries.

2) In the Test series Zaheer Khan wasnt in good form which suddenly had become a minus for India.In the ODI series it seems,he has regained his rhythm.Also Harbhajan bowled well today.

3) In the Test series,the recently introduced REVIEW system harrassed the Indian batsmen specially of the kind of Rahul Dravid,Ganguly and Sachin.Their bowlers like Murli and Mendis had just to strike a good line bowl on the pads for an LBW review.Here that threat was absent hence the batsmen could play more freely.

4) Srilankan batsmen suddenly lost their touch specially the two greats - Jayawardene and Sangakarra.

5) Dhoni's captaincy in ODI is more aggressive than that of Kumble's Captaincy in Tests.

6) Dhoni was fresh after he rested during the Test series.Hence he was full of energy and good form at the beginning of the series.

7) Mendis didnt look as effective in the ODI as he looked in the Test series.Murli looked very ordinary today.

Indians have just won but they are not yet no.1 in the world they are no.5 in the rankings.So if they want to become numero Uno they need to keep winning like this..........

and to think of it The so called FAB 4 fail and they loose the test seies, now a bunch of youngsters win the ODI series for them they should play test also......no not that, by bowling india were equal to srilanka.... in batting raina and dhoni kept touch while none of the srilankans did.....

your thinking of srilankans going into a hidding is just a dream..... we never rant about our players after they loose as the indian supporters does.... its just another day and the sun rises after everynight.....

They , SL, were depending upon some "magic" that did not happen.

The Sri Lankan bowlers were quite good, but after the first game, maybe Mendis fell for the hype and sat on his laurels just a bit! The batting however, was about as lethal as a butter knife, and Zaheer and co. were able to cut right through them!

it was a very good win Dean Jones says Sri Lanka at home is the hardest team to beat

1..India realy missed Harbjan ,he is a class bowler and is so important to India

2.. India played mendis well and Murali even better

3 i think India also missed Dhoni, when he plays jells the middle order together
