She had a baby with downs syndrome, which to me is very sad. But, a part of me is saying that she's using this for political gain.........

  1. Oh BS... Its a routine test for most pregnant woman over 30 And I said MOST.. not all

As it stands, some mothers are strongly encouraged to test:

Mothers over 30 as age is a high factor for increased abnormalities

Mothers with abnormal blood screen results

    Mothers with abnormal ultrasound findings

Mothers with a family history of chromosomal and genetic problems

Mothers of a baby with a parent who is a carrier for a disease

Most women opt out of it anyways as they do not want to risk even the slightest harm their babies and feel sure the results won’t influence their pregnancy decisions anyway.

added... I admire her for chosing to keep the baby and why are you sad? The baby is the way it is because of Gods will and is a chosen and special baby .... I look at her child as a gift where many dont...  I  have much respect for her!!

  2. It's a routine test for all woman that are pregnant. You should focus on the fact that she had the baby, and was willing to provide what special needs were required, Instead of considering it a burden like you libs would and mutilating it.

  3. My doctor recommended that I have it when I was pregnant at 36. He said most women over 30 have it, because it helps to be prepared. I would NOT have aborted my baby, regardless of the test results, but I would have wanted to know beforehand.

  4. I agree. Amnio Tests are voluntary.  My Doctor wanted me to get one for my last pregnancy and I didn't, because it didn't matter.  I do feel like she is using it as a tool to win some votes. How sad, indeed. WHat she needs to do is take herself home to take care of her newborn baby and her pregnant daughter.

  5. my thoughts are ...I'm going to go with what i would of done   even if i absolutely knew i was going to have the baby and the doc suggested an amnio test i would take it so i can prepare myself before the baby is born.  I would of liked to tell my other children "look your brother/sister is going to be born differently and this is what it's going to be like"  so on and so forth.
