I cannot understand why they did not bring Prince in to replace Lockyer in the Australian team, move Thurston to 6. and put Prince at number 7. Thurston has shown he plays just as good at number 6 and Prince is the best player in the NRL at the moment. But instead they move Bird to 6. I really dont get this. Why do they not want Prince in the team. What does he actually have to do to make the team.

  1. Its bcuz him and Lafreaky r black

  2. its usual bias againts QLDers, they try to keep it even numbers between QLDers and NSW players at the expense of possibly losing to the kiwis.

  3. well there aren't many if any titan players in the team. Form alone can't get you into the team, you have to be able to form good combinations with the teams and overall create a psitive atmosphere. Bird can possibly to this better than prince, cuz imo prince is a lil fusspot.

  4. I can't work out why they continue to overlook him. They picked him in 2005, then in the game against Great Britain they replace him 57 minutes into the match (and without another half in the team) - and he hasn't been picked since.

In 2005 he won a GF, Clive Churchill medal and Dally M captain of the year - I don't think his form has dropped at all - but it is like his card was marked "not to play for Australia" after the 57 minutes they played him. No idea why.

  5. I'm not saying that the selectors are fair - I think they're pretty c**p too, but just answering your exact question, I think for Scott Prince to make the Australian team, he either needs to somehow manage the impossible and play even better than he is now, or Thurston needs to get injured, and then drop into one of the worst form slumps in the history of rugby league. Or we need new selectors who actually judge the current form of players.

Another theory. I'm not sure of Scott Prince's exact heritage or anything, but maybe he could find another international team to represent, using all those loopholes in the system, and then use the Rugby League World Cup this year to really show the Australian selectors what he's worth. If he could lead some team of complete unknowns to a victory against Australia, that would surely be proof enough for the selectors that he is good enough. But then, there's probably some dodgy law that would then prevent him from actually playing for Australia because he's played for another team...

This has been a bloody long answer.

  6. i agree with Rerere Chelsea...

  7. When i heard Lockyer had pulled out i thought for sure they would bring Prince in considering the form he has shown throughout the season so far, but what even became more of a shock was that the brought Crocker in too the team ahead of Lafranchi, what do both these guys have too do to make the aussie team?

  8. Cause Loyality > Form

If Hunt was fit, I would imagine he would have been fullback... but then again I'm bias.

Basically Prince has given himself every chance for an Aussie jersey, but Thurston hasn't done anything to warrant getting dropped.
