on vault we only had Alicia and on bars we only had Nastia. i know you can only have 2 per country...so why didnt we have 1 more on each? i know one of the other girls would have qualified for either event.

  1. Why worry about one only?   If good & sure, one is enough.

To be in, there are two sides of it.......a) Not qualified b) not interested.

  2. Maybe they didn't qualify?

  3. Only the top 8 scorers in the Preliminaries get to compete in the individual apparatus finals, Shawn was the 2nd American at 11th on Uneven Bars and 16th on Vault.

  4. They may not have made it through to the finals.

2 Americans may have been competing in the event but one may not have attained a high enough score to progress through to the final.

  5. They didn't qualify or score high enough. And for the ones when they do score high enough, they already have 2 gymnasts (Alicia was 4th but 3rd US gymnast for beam)

  6. You have to qualify to be in those events at the end and I am not sure that we had any more uninjured qualifiers.
