For starters for those who said 20 million dollars.  He didnt get paid 20 million, that was part of the angle.....  He got paid around 2 million dollars.....

The reason I think he did it was to raise his profile, so that he might be a bigger draw for future fights.

Actually mayweather made about 2 million not 20. plu he is going to get a piece of the ppv buys. wrestling fans stop paying attention and didn't grab the original story line so that put a big dent in his pocket. plus most boxers get into some other form of promotional acts to keep their names fresh
