Why did Yoda say that "Fear is the path to the Dark Side...."?

Meh...I'd interpret it as meaning that the fear of losing something is what drives people to the dark side, or to be evil.

Darth Sidious would be afraid of losing his life, and Anakin follows Palpatine in an attempt to learn how to extend the live of Padme. In other words, he fears losing her.

Obvious parallels can be drawn her with the cause of sin, as the cause of sin as the catholic church teaches it, is fear.

that's what he said. I guess what he means is you should not be afraid. you should be brave and face challenges head on. the sith are they way they are because they are afraid.
