  1. Well, he did unsuccessfully try to commit suicide while being held in prison there...

  2. The latter is true John the living dead McCain.

  3. Because in Vietnam, McCain took torture and refused special favor.  How could have died and would have rather died then betray his fellow prisoners or his country.  But that is what Service Before Self means, most liberals wouldn't know anything about that.

  4. his choice

  5. It is very disturbing that this question is even being asked,  John McCain did not speak out against his country during his captivity thus choosing "death before dishonor".  McCain, you can bet was asked to denounce the actions of the U.S. during Vietnam to which his reply was no!  Before assuming he should have died in Vietnam in order to fulfill that claim one needs to understand first who his father was and the worth of John McCain as a POW alive vice being killed and speaking out against the U.S. to the North Vietnamese. McCain's heroism should not be questioned.  You may disagree with his politics but you should not question his heroism and allegiance to this nation.

  6. I believe he thought he might die (as he was threatened) as a result of his decision to resist compulsion. These guys in New York who say "my way or the hiway" are the same type, and must be resisted likewise or 2 hundred yrs of a delicate experiment in born-free will be

    toast.

  7. Maybe he did and this guy found his SSN no longer being used and thought, "Hey, what a cool scam!"

  8. He may know something we don't

  9. McCain gave up intel to the enemy to garner better treatment for himself!
