  1. Because its the only way. He wants to brainwash us :-(.

  2. Here's an email that someone sent me today. This tells a lot about Al Gore:

House #1 A 20 room mansion ( not including 8 bathrooms ) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool ( and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In one month this residence consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern 'snow belt' area. It's in the South.

    House #2

Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university. This house incorporates every 'green' feature current home construction can provide. The house is 4,000 square feet ( 4 bedrooms ) and is nestled on a high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground.

The water (usually 67 degrees F.) heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumes one-quarter electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape.

HOUSE #1 is outside of Nashville , Tennessee ; it is the abode of enviornmentalist' Al Gore.

HOUSE #2 is on a ranch near Crawford,

Texas ; it is the residence of the President of the United States , George W. Bush.

    An 'inconvenient truth'.

  3. Bad, poorly researched question

  4. or mabey it is all based on theory. the only truth is that yes the earths atmosphere is changing , its healing itsself and has been for a very long long time, and will be until its finally restored . everything , and other plantes are changing as well . its so silly to say we can change things . cause for those of us that think we are going to change earth , what do you say about the rest of the solar system ?? its silly .

  5. What I like best about this question is that is hasn't been asked before, at least with this precise phrasing by this seeker of knowledge.  The data is not out there, it is in here.  Look around, see all the data?   It's in here, not out there.

You sub-question is clearly a typo.  You are right, there is no reel data since nobody uses open mag tape anymore.  It's all solid state these days, RAID arrays, DVD-R, SATA.

Thanks for asking this, questions like this show more clearly than anything the technical prowess of skeptics and why all of us should believe there are deep fundamental problems in the whole idea that anthropogenic CO2 is affecting the radiative balance of the planet.

p.s.  Love the "algore" thing.  Really drives home how you disrespect algore.  He's probably crushed, thinking "awww geez, Nobel Peace prize and an Academy Award mean nothing if Jack Scar Action Hero on Y!A calls me algore."

  6. Or maybe your question is what's false.

When the showing of his movie in public schools was challenged (by a mining industry financed parent) in a court of law in the UK the judge did find a few minor misleading statements, but he also wrote the following:

    [QUOTE]

I turn to AIT, the film. The following is clear:

        i) It is substantially founded upon scientific research and fact, albeit that the science is used, in the hands of a talented politician and communicator, to make a political statement and to support a political programme.

ii) As Mr Chamberlain persuasively sets out at paragraph 11 of his skeleton:

"The Film advances four main scientific hypotheses, each of which is very well supported by research published in respected, peer-reviewed journals and accords with the latest conclusions of the IPCC:

                (1) global average temperatures have been rising significantly over the past half century and are likely to continue to rise ("climate change");

                (2) climate change is mainly attributable to man-made emissions of carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide ("greenhouse gases");

                (3) climate change will, if unchecked, have significant adverse effects on the world and its populations; and

                (4) there are measures which individuals and governments can take which will help to reduce climate change or mitigate its effects."

These propositions, Mr Chamberlain submits (and I accept), are supported by a vast quantity of research published in peer-reviewed journals worldwide and by the great majority of the world's climate scientists.

    [END QUOTE]

So it looks like there is indeed "real data", but you haven't taken any time to research the subject.

  7. the treehuggers alway use false data and not just about global warming.

they will take something they dont like and make a bunch of false claims to make people believe that they are right.

they have been doing it for the last 50 years

why should they stop for global warming.

they did it with the spotted owl

    they did it with logging

    they did it with mineing.

if they did not do it i would not know what to believe.

i would think they were up to something.

or that they  had finely lost it.

the worst part is that they admit to using false data

but claim its because they need to scare the public to get laws passed to stop what they see as a  problem.

  8. There is data alright.  All kinds of data.

    We have selected data.

    We have truncated data.

    We have reconstructed data.

We have data that is outright fudged.

We use that data to construct climate models that we can depend on to predict future climate.

  9. Data can be easily skewed to make a case one way or another. But, Al did mess things up. But it helped make him some money and keep his name out there in the public eye during an election year.

  10. Can you actually detail the so-called "lies?"

    I didn't think so!

If all you can do is spew propaganda, do everyone a favor and place something in the hole in your face so you can't infect others with stupidity.

  11. How can you tell if a politician is lying? His lips are moving.

  12. Like what?  You haven't identified a single thing in your rant.

  13. Did you not hear about the big chunk of ice that melted/split off from a glacier like 2 days ago?  There's your data.
