  1. Supposedly the Packers were making him make a decision real quick, and he decided to hang it up. I wish it STAYED that way, but it's now the sad mess that we know as ESPN's only story.

  2. I agree with http/: something something guy. It really seems like the Pack organization and Brett weren't seeing eye to eye on any matters, and they really wanted to move along and build up a young talented team. That makes GB a great place for Rogers, not Brett. Since Rogers contract expires at the end of the year it became apparent that something had to be done in order to keep Rogers there, so getting rid of Brett seemed to be the best solution. He's made hints that they really pushed him to retirement. But again, the situation is so messy... I'll read the biography when it comes out.

  3. MAD because he could not win the superbowl again

  4. he thought he couldn't handle it anymore mentally.  he said he was spending twice as much time studying game films then when he was younger.

  5. Who knows. I think him and Thompson had a few words. Both Favre and the Packers are getting on my nerves. Best decision for Favre was to stay retired or simply ask to be reinstated and force a trade instead of showing up to training camp

  6. Brett Favre felt that he had to because of the NFL Draft and the start of the free agent signing period, so he felt pressured by the Packers.  Its also because of Ted Thompson the general manager.  Brett Favre said they he could play another year he just didn't want to not go to the super bowl.  He wants to go the super bowl if he comes back.  Well hes coming back but he wants to be with another team for a chance to make it to the superbowl again.   Hes talked to many teams including the Vikings.

    Hope this helps.

  7. who cares already?

  8. He Was Hoping When He Came Back He Would Get The Release.

  9. because he is a buttmunch

  10. My guess is the Packers pressured him into it. But who really knows...

  11. the same reason all professional players do.

  12. Shortly after the season ended, Favre was forced by management to effectively retire. He complied, thinking he was doing the best for the team.
